On May 18, 2011, at 18:00 PM, as a response to the appeal of Catholicos-Patriach of All Georgia Ilia II regarding building Iveria Virgin Mary Church in Makhata Mountain, the actors of Sokhumi State Children’s Theater “White Wave” will perform charity theatrical play in Nodar Dumbadze State Children’s Theater.

“Krutsio” becomes the winner of the school league competition (spring session) of the game “What? Where? When?” Surpassing their competitor teams with 15 scores, IDP team “Krutsio” has obtained the 1st prize of the competition. The team “Utopia” (Abkhazia Public School #11) has gained the 2nd place with 13 scores, while “Tsashkibuli” (Abkhazia Public School #10) has become the 3rd among the winners having 11 scores as the final result of the competition.

In May 15, 2011, 138 students of Public Schools of A/R of Abkhazia and pupils from the occupied regions have taken part in the 65th student conference organized by Tbilisi National Youth Palace and the Academy of Georgia.

Minister of Education and Culture of A/R of Abkhazia, Dali Khomeriki is visiting Western Georgia for two days. Minister is intending to visit Public Schools of A/R of Abkhazia, meet with teachers and pupils, get familiar with the readiness and needs of the pupils for passing final compulsory exams at general education level.

On May 13-14, 2011, at 10:00 AM the final game of the Abkhazia Mini Football Open Competition will be held in the 1st Public School of Zugdidi (#1, Agmashenebeli Str.,) among boys born on 1995-1996 years. 14 teams will participate in the competition: 4 teams from occupied regions of Gali District and 10 teams of Abkhazia Public Schools from different cities of Georgia (Zugdidi, Senaki, Chkhorotsku). Overall, 160 sportsmen will take part in the championship. The major goal of the competition is to popularize football and support IDP children and youth from Abkhazia. Also, the competition is aiming at promoting healthy lifestyle among children.
